Interpretive Planning
AFH Design, LLC joined forces with GLMV Architects and Zoo Advisors to consult on the educational aspects of the Little Rock Zoo Master Plan in 2013.
This strong team was able to develop an integrated Master Plan, resulting in a cohesive product with realistic, achievable goals and objectives.
AFH Design worked very closely with the Zoo’s education department to assess current education programs and signage programs including interpretation and wayfinding.
Based on the Little Rock Zoo Mission ans Vision, AFH Design created a thematic organizational plan that coordinated with the Facilities Master Plan and the Financial Master Plan. This new thematic Plan will serve as a guideline for the development of interpretive message around the Zoo.
Each thematic area will share the same basic components including cultural elements, themed architecture and even colors and textures to represent each region. The new plan’s thrust is to enrich the visitor’s experience and to better orient the visitor during their visit.
